Exhibitions and archives
Eskilstuna Art Museum can be found in the area known as Munktellstaden, and is located in Bolinder Munktell’s former cogwheel-workshop. At Eskilstuna Art Museum you'll find permanent collections as well as temporary exhibitions with contemporary art and applied art, educational work, The Swedish Archive of Children’s Art, programmed activities and a gift shop. Adjacent to the museum you will find the lunch restaurant P-2.
200 works by famous Swedish artists
The museum is one of Sweden’s oldest art museums outside of the metropolitan areas. The museum’s collections consist of works from as early as the 17th century up until today. The work is mainly Nordic and northern European, with an emphasis on Swedish 20th century-paintings. The main exhibition displays almost 200 pieces of art by several well-known Swedish artists.
