4. Gamla staden (Old Town)

From the church, follow Strandgatan south-east until you come to Gamla staden (Old Town). Dating back to the 1100s, this is the center of the original Eskilstuna and the oldest part of the current city. The area is filled with fashion and interior design stores, delicatessens, art galleries, beauty parlours and cafés.

5. Fristadstorget (square)

Fristadstorget square is the heart of the city today, with a market and all kinds of other activities throughout the year. While you watch people coming and going, make sure to checkout Pin-Point, the spectacular 22-metre-high sculpture created by Olov Tällström.
